Cummins and Engledow to Partner on Day of Caring

Leading Indiana landscape firm, Engledow Group, announced today that the company, in cooperation with Cummins Inc., (NYSE: CMI) will be donating their time and expertise to the Concord Neighborhood Center on Friday, August 16th as part of a day of caring.

The center offers south side Indianapolis families and individuals of all ages a one-stop source for social services, children’s programs, educational opportunities, health information, and recreational activities.

Engledow Group will be providing landscape services along with plant and hardscape materials as an extension of the inside classroom to enhance the great education that is currently part of Concord’s Childcare Center facility. Volunteers will be trimming trees, spreading stone, building a planter bed, and completing other general landscape maintenance tasks around the facility.

Cummins leaders and Victoria Baker, Cummins Liaison for the Child Development Center, have been working closely with the Concord Neighborhood Center for months to support Niki Girls & Scott Moore in their Paths to Quality journey.

“A quality daycare facility is extremely important to providing children the early education and social skills that are critical to future success,” said Baker. “Cummins is committed to improving the communities where we live and work, which is why the Company and its Indianapolis employees continue to find ways to help Concord improve its ability to serve children and families in this area. We are also pleased to partner with Engledow today—they have been a great partner for our landscaping needs over the years, and we’re appreciative of their involvement. We encourage others to get involved in community efforts because it can make a tremendous difference in the lives of others.”

Jim Engledow, President and CEO of Engledow Group, added that “once completed, the playground will be a beautiful, peaceful, and safe place where children can get outside and do what they do best: play.”
