Where did you grow up? I grew up on the southside of Indianapolis — just north of Greenwood.
What is your professional background? I graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Landscape Architecture in 2009, and in June of this past year, I joined Litchfield Landscape as a member of the design team. I have experience as a foreman installing paver patios, walls and outdoor kitchens, as well as working as a part of a crew installing landscapes and lighting for high-end residential clients.
What inspires you in life? “[Applied] knowledge is power” — Any chance I get, I’m looking for the chance to learn something and use it, and then the opportunity to teach somebody else.
What hobbies and interests do you enjoy in your pastime? I’m really into architecture and photography. If I could spend every weekend travelling and taking photos, I would. I’m also really into sports — any other Dallas Cowboys fans out there?
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was a kid, I wanted to be an engineer but realized I couldn’t once I developed a sense of humor.
What three words best describe you? Family, jokester, and easy-going.
What’s your favorite plant? Right now, my kick is Acer palmatum ‘Aconitifolium’ — Fernleaf Japanese Maple (next week it will be something else).
What does “we speak green” mean to you? This is our language. As a designer, my goal is to interpret to a client the potential and the vision that can create a beautiful finished product.
